Job Description

The Maintenance Tech is responsible for maintaining production and quality by ensuring operation of machinery and mechanical equipment. The Maintenance Tech should be available to work shifts with starting times around the clock including weekends and holidays, as business needs dictate. 

  • Repairs and maintains, in accordance with manufacturers safety protocol, diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, and manufacturer's specifications.
  • Machinery and mechanical equipment, such as engines, motors, pneumatic tools and systems, hydraulic systems, conveyor systems, electronic systems, PLC, and production machines and equipment.
  • Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, and precision-measuring and testing instruments.
  • Maintenance Tech locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments.
  • Removes defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools; examining form and texture of parts.
  • Determines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts; using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
  • Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges.
  • Starts devices to test their performance.
  • Lubricates and cleans parts.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings.
  • Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing technical publications; establishing personal networks.
  • Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs. 

Experience/ Skills Needed: 

Minimum 3 years experience as a Maintenance Tech with hands on experience and trouble shooting ability in electrical/pneumatic equipment; strong diagnostic techniques; ability to assess needs, deadlines and priorities; excellent written and verbal communication skills.
