Job Description

This individual verifies and records all incoming and outgoing shipments and performs such duties to follow quality and productivity standards.  Responsible to manage control of inventory levels on components and raw material, working with all Departments on problems that come up daily concerning inventory; resolves MAPICS transaction errors and assists in build out parts inventories within a tier one automotive supplier machining manufacturing facility. 

Essential duties and responsibilities:

  • Work closely with other departments to determine "root cause" ideology
  • Assist in the preparation of all shipping documents in a timely and accurate manner
  • Performs computer related functions as they pertain to the job
  • Assist in inventory control and as demands change, replenish systems are reviewed and optimized to maintain inventory goals. 
  • Understands, develops, and maintains production plans and communicates changes to management.
  • Maintain raw material, WIP and finished goods directly related to efficient production planning of purchased inventory and components by line responsibility
  • Track discrepancy history to identify trends so countermeasures can be developed for inventory accuracy problem elimination
  • Assist with order of raw material for the MIS Department (Service Parts)
  • Assist with Overseas Material and shipments
  • Must be able to understand quality standards, methods and reporting as required
  • Maintains inventory and supplies
  • 5S (Sort, Set-in-Order, Shine, Standardize and Sustain) your work space and 5S duties as assigned

  • Problem solving-the individual identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner, gathers and analyzes information skillfully
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical functions


Education and work experience:

  • An Associate's degree or Industry Certification
  • Four (4) years of experience in a manufacturing environment and production control or warehouse setting
  • Fork Truck Operation Certification
