Job Description

We have a direct hire opportunity in the Springfield area for a Field Service/Machine Builder position. The position is part of a team responsible for the in-house assembly of equipment and service at customer locations. During on-site service visits, this person will provide startup service and troubleshoot to diagnose and provide solutions to repair equipment. The successful candidate will have a strong mechanical background and enjoy assembly of equipment and solving mechanical and programming equipment problems.
Position responsibilities:

• Machine Assembly: assembly of mechanical, pneumatic and electrical machine components including piping and wiring based on shop drawings using electric or hand tools as required.

• Electrical machine Controls: knowledge of machine controls and ability to wire and calibrate control devices using shop drawings and manufacturer’s instructions

• PLC programming and troubleshooting using Allen Bradley RSLogix platforms

• Field Service: travel, sometimes on short notice, to service customers’ needs including startup or repair of equipment. Travel from 2 days to 1 week are common to customers plants in U.S., Canada, Mexico, and South America Qualifications:

• Design Associated degree or tech school certificate, or 1-2 years manufacturing assembly experience required

• Demonstrated strong mechanical aptitude and PLC controls knowledge required

• Industrial machine shop or industrial manufacturing experience required

• Ability to work independently and/or with limited supervision required

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively work with our domestic and international customers is a must • Ability to lift 50 lbs. and work at heights; fabrication experience a plus
