Maintenance Mechanic - 1st shift!


Job Description

A busy manufacturing facility in Dayton has a 1st shift positon – direct hire – for an experienced maintenance mechanic!  Hours are 7am-3:30pm.  This is a union environment – targeted starting pay is $29.51 an hour! 


  • This position is one that requires versatility in the applicant as the duties cover a wide range of mechanical skills.
  • From machine repair through building maintenance to electrical trouble shooting and support equipment repair.
  • Tools and supplies must be moved to the job site as needs dictate and the scope of individual job assignments may be as broad as machinery installations or as narrow as 110 Volt cord repair.
  • In addition, maintenance personnel are responsible for a high degree of expertise in rigging of load lifts, power crane operation, and generally transporting machinery within a plant as needs may require.
  • The safe and orderly operation of plant equipment and the practice of preventative maintenance make the position one of considerable trust and responsibility. 

Basic Requirements: 

  • High school graduate (or equivalent).
  • Must be able to pass an Industrial Electrical and Hydraulic Systems assessment
  • A plus if 2 years of Assistant Maintenance mechanic or closely related general maintenance experience in an industrial environment with metal removal conventional machine experience preferred.
  • Capable of reading and interpreting blueprints and repair machine tool schematics.
  • Possess working knowledge in plumbing, carpentry, and electrical safety.
  • Must possess own hand tools as outlined in the personal tool policy.
  • Capable of attending supplementary instruction as required.
