Job Description

Senior Designer 

Job Overview: 

The Sr. Designer is responsible for designing complex battery projects from concept stage to prototype/production. In this direct hire position, they will work cross functionally for the release of high/low voltage battery products. 

Responsibilities & Duties: 

  • Design new parts from initial design to prototype phase using Solidworks.
  • Create 2D prints applying GD&T.
  • Generate 3D component using Functional Tolerancing & Annotation.
  • Generate assembly illustrations using Solidworks, and other office tools to help engineers establish proper assembly processes of stationary energy storage system components.
  • Perform packaging studies on stationary energy systems using different types of off the shelf products.
  • Work with Release Engineers to meet component and system requirements.
  • Apply Design for Manufacturability, Design for Assembly, and integration knowledge to parts and subsystem designs.
  • Responsible for producing Product Structure and Engineering Bill of Material for use in development and production.
  • Ensure PLM system integrity and manage all product configuration data and information throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Execute plans according to schedule for engineering releases. 


  • Previous experience with design and product launch.
  • Previous experience with sheet metal, plastic injection molding, forming/stamping, casting, extrusion, and composites.
  • Proficiency in 3D - Solidworks. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • 8+ years relevant manufacturing/ component industry experience.
  • Proficiency using PLM tools (Enovia preferred).
  • Understanding of GD&T and Dimensional Management required. 

This is a direct hire position with a targeted starting pay of up to $100K!
