Manufacturing Engineer with metal stamping experience

Develops and improves manufacturing processes by studying product and manufacturing methods.

 ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:               

  • Plans and directs manufacturing processes in metal stamping plant: Develops and improves manufacturing methods, utilizing knowledge of product design, materials and parts, fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality control standards.
  • Strong understanding of both transfer or progressive metal stamping tools/processes and capabilities. 
  • Analyzes and plans work force utilization, space requirements, and workflow, and designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
  • Assures product and process quality by designing test methods; testing finished- product and process capabilities; establishing standards; confirming manufacturing processes. 

JOB SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS:

  • Experience with programming either or both servo transfers and/or robotic transfer is a plus.
  • Develop and implement projects to decrease down time, decrease set up time, and increase up time.
  • Work with group to implement lean initiatives.
  • Assist in quality resolution
  • Communicate status of projects and quality issues to internal organization.
  • Provide and/or assist with capital or cost justifications to support strategic objectives 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Minimum of Bachelor degree in engineering or technical field.
  • Minimum of five (5) years working in a manufacturing engineer role at a metal stamping company.
  • Proficient with CAD software.
