Job Description

We have a manufacturing client in the Dayton, Ohio area that is looking for a Quality Engineer to add to their team.

Position: Quality Engineer - Direct Hire

Job Responsibilities include:

  • Measurements and Testing
  • Measuring, recording and reporting dimensional, functional and visual attributes per internally specified requirements
  • Maintaining measurement database integrity
  • Documentation
  • Controlling and reporting all nonconformance product per documented procedures
  • Documenting and reporting all supplier quality related issues per document procedures
  • Quality Management System Support
  • Assisting in audit preparation
  • Conducting internal audits as required
  • Ensure corrective actions addressed in a timely manner
  • Support actions needed to address process improvements and customer concerns via Root Cause & Corrective Action (RCCA)
  • Training and monitoring all personnel performing quality testing within the quality lab and on the production floor
  • Monitoring process
  • In process controls (data sheets, SPC, poke-yoke checks…)
  • Quality Control checks (Sampling per AQL check sheets, Visual Audits)
  • Chemical titrations and measurements
  • Coordinating with Production team to address results of titration results
  • Able to read and interpret blueprint and engineering drawings and be able to document nonconformances as required
  • Sampling-Assistance
  • Pulling samples as needed
  • Submission-Assistance
  • Assist with inspections and actions required for First Article Submission, FAT

The ideal candidate attributes and experiences area:

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience as a Quality Control Technician.
  • Associates of Science degree in Engineering Technology or related field or military technical training program or completion of technical institute program or equivalent job experience and responsibility with 6-8 years' experience.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Problem solver.
  • Be able to pass a stringent post offer background.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft programs as well as other programs as assigned.
  • Able to manage multiple projects and job responsibilities simultaneously.
  • Be self-motivated. Be able to complete tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Possess a great team attitude with a team driven mentality.
  • Long-term, career minded individual.
  • Experience with physical lab testing equipment, calipers, scales, digital height gauge and compression/tension force testing equipment.
  • Clearly and effectively communicate with all internal and external customers in a clear and effective manner both written and verbally.
  • Work well as part of a team and individual.
  • Travel away from home for extended periods of time may be required, must also be able to drive or ride in a vehicle for extended periods of time.
