Technical Sales Representative


Job Description

The Technical Sales Representative is responsible for all aspects of customer satisfaction to include field service assistance, problem solving, and product recommendations that provide optimum results. The ideal Technical Sales Representative will have technical knowledge of industrial products and knowledge of metals and/or machining. Must possess a valid driver's license and have an excellent driving record. 

In this position, you will

  • Establish contact with prospective customers by performing sales calls and site visits.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with new and existing customer base through quotes, anticipating customer needs and resolving customer concerns.
  • Taking ownership of account from quote to sale closing
  • Recommend products to customers, based on customers’ needs and interests.
  • Answer customers’ questions about products, pricing, and availability.
  • Estimate or quote prices, credit or contract terms, and delivery dates.
  • Consult with clients after sales to resolve problems and to provide ongoing support.
  • Assist in the preparation and operation of trade shows and conventions. 

Qualifications and Skills

  • 2 years prior experience in technical sales for an OEM
  • Proven sales record
  • Must be comfortable cold calling
  • Experience and understanding of industrial and capital equipment sales
  • The ability to manage multiple responsibilities and work on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Self-motivated and able to work with minimum supervision.
  • Strong work ethic and organizational skills
  • Ability to travel as needed
  • Solid computer skills including email, internet, data entry and Office365 applications
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

 Pay is up to $45K + commission up to $52-54K total!
