Job Description

We have an immediate, direct hire opportunity in the Dayton area for an Automation Technician.  This opportunity will be working with new equipment and would be responsible for it. 

POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain high production automated equipment and facility equipment following all safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the site's business goals and objectives.

1. Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain automated production machines and the plant facility's equipment.
2. Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
3. Perform simple machinist duties and responsibilities.
4. Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
5. Read and interpret equipment manuals, work orders, electric and hydraulic/pneumatic schematics to perform required maintenance and service.
6. Understand how to connect and troubleshoot PLC ladder logic and modify program as needed.
7. Diagnose problems using advance trouble shooting techniques, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
8. Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities.
9. Perform a variety of plumbing maintenance and carpentry functions.
10. Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.
11. Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.
12. Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
13. Understand and implement lean principles.
14. Perform all other duties as assigned or needed.

o Requires a high school diploma/GED and completion of a craft apprenticeship, or an equivalent number of years of education and production maintenance experience;
o A degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance a plus;
o 4+ years of manufacturing experience; strong hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical and industrial skills with PLC experience and HVAC. Incinerator and boiler experience is a plus.
" Experience in high speed automated equipment and understand ultrasonic welding techniques.
" Experience working in a highly regulated environment (FDA, NIOSH, ect.) is a plus.
" Team player and help influence change.
o Paper laminating and coating experience is a plus.
o Must be highly motivated and able to work independently.

When called upon, must be available for overtime, including staying after normal shift, call-ins, and weekends as needed.
Must be able to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds consistently with heavier weight necessary at times with help.
