Job Description

ob Summary:
Must be able to lift a minimum of 45 pounds. Must have own set of calibration tools. Should be able to read blueprints, micrometers and gauges. Must be familiar with all automatic screw machines in Screw Machine Department. Should have 3 years related experience. Must complete Automatic Screw Machine Operator Training Program to the satisfaction of the department group leader and trainers. The trainee status shall not exceed six months.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Set up jobs and run machines, producing parts according to specifications. Change gears and cams to print if job will not run. Keep machines clean and perform preventive maintenance as necessary. Load machines and check production. Make repairs and/or modifications to machines, insuring that machines are kept in running order to prevent costly downtime.
Perform other related miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Prefer high school diploma or equivalent. Demonstrated ability to work with hands and to work in mechanically oriented situations following supervisor's instructions. Ability to follow instructions, given either orally or in writing. Ability to read and write and to follow detailed written instructions. Must have general knowledge of basic arithmetic. Should be able to gauge parts.

This is an entry-level position. Initial training can be accomplished by on-the-job training. Any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities is a plus.
