Job Description

TOOLROOM HELPER

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Build or repair all types, sizes, and shapes of jigs, fixtures, tools, and dies. Assemble and try out complex tools and dies on manufacturing equipment.   

  1. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 
  • Creates and Repair dies by reading and interprets blueprints or from verbal instructions.
  • Sets-up tool room equipment.
  • Operates all tool room equipment
  • Operates hand and small power tools.
  • Fits and assembles jigs, fixtures, tools, and dies. 
  • Sets up, runs off, and tests dies to produce a product to specifications
  • Investigates die difficulties to their source and makes appropriate corrections.
  • Assists with set-up and modification of tools and dies in production machines for trial runs
  • Instructs Supervisor or Machine Operators on die use and care.

 III. QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Completion of formal apprenticeship program or equivalent experience
  • Successful completion of on-the-job training program.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 25 pounds frequently and 50 pound occasionally.
  • Physical ability to stand, bend, and stoop for long periods of time

This is an entry level position!  In order to be considered for this position, you need to have 1-2 years experience working with dies.
