The Materials Manager reports to the General Manager and is responsible for production and material planning, scheduling, purchasing, shipping/receiving, material handling, and warehousing activities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensure timely, accurate shipment and receipt of customer or supplier product
Responsible for effective inventory management
Manage purchasing functions
Responsible for production and materials planning activities for regular, service, and trial part production, as well as subcontracted production requirements
Employ and maintain system applications with the support of IT Services to include:
Coach and motivate a team of direct reports to achieve departmental objectives
Participate in special projects determined by the General Manager
Actively support maintenance of our ISO 14001 environmental and TS16949 quality programs
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Strong interpersonal skills required to interact with all departments and levels within the organization
Attention to detail
Excellent mathematical, analytical and problem solving skills
Customer/client focus
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
BS in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration and/or related discipline.
5-10 years Materials Management experience
Automotive Tier One experience required
Minimum 2 years purchasing experience
Knowledgeable in ITAF 16949
3-5 years’ experience with ERP and EDI systems
Familiarity with Plex ERP system preferred
Direct supervisory experience
Lean manufacturing experience a plus
