Mechanical Assembler


Job Description


Perform the assembly and disassembly of production machinery. Includes modifying existing customer products and building new products to customer specifications.


Associate's degree from a trade school, community college, or equivalent experience.


" Five plus years of capital equipment experience.
" Ability and knowledge to use hand and power tools, able to use large assembly drawings, familiar with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
" Thorough understanding of assembly processes to include pneumatics, hydraulics, and basic electrical assembly, torque setting equipment, alignment levels, and lasers.
" Basic understanding of manufacturing equipment to include lathes, mills, surface grinders, polishers, and welding equipment. Should have above average experience with use of fork trucks and overhead cranes.
" Must be able to stand, walk, push, pull, reach overhead, bend to the floor and lift up to 60 pounds without difficulty. Some ladder climbing. Cannot be afraid of heights.
" Visual acuity for reading machine dial gauges, electrical diagrams, blueprints, and precision measuring instruments. Auditory acuity to monitor machine sound changes in order to diagnose and remedy equipment problems.
" Ability to consider alternatives and make decisions.
