Job Description


This is a great opportunity for an entry level maintenance technician that wants to learn more and fine tune their craft!  Positions open on 2nd and 3rd shift. Starting wage is between $20-22 an hour with a shift differential of $2.00! 


 Perform maintenance work on plant equipment or facilities using crafts such as:

  • Basic electrical troubleshooting.
  • Hydraulics and Machine repair.
  • Plumbing construction, repair and maintain facility water, gas, waste, air, oil, and hydraulic systems using appropriate equipment and materials.
  • Mechanical (welding and fabrication).
  • Carpentry, masonry, roof maintenance or other maintenance activities.
  • Follows a study plan to learn the skills trade and be tested in order to make the next level.
  • Perform work in a safe manner following National Electric Code, plumbing code and any other applicable regulations. Follow plant safety rules and procedures and safety rules of the trade.
  • Maintain good housekeeping in the maintenance department and in any area in which work is performed.
  • Preform projects given for testing employees skills in each category.
  • Follows instructions of supervision or technician in performing task in new skills.
  • Must have the ability to perform at level 6 or higher in the maintenance pay for skills program. 


  • Working knowledge of basic electrical troubleshooting.
  • Working knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic repair (pumps, valves, cylinders and other related hydraulic and pneumatic components) and use of diagnostic equipment.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical construction/repair using arc and gas welding and gas cutting torches. Ability to fabricate steel components using standard cutting and fastening techniques.
  • Vocational training and/or Maintenance Technician Apprenticeship preferred.
  • Good attendance, work and safety record.
  • Cooperative attitude with a high degree of motivation.
  • Must accept company offered schooling to upgrade their skills to keep abreast of changing technology.
  • Ability to climb and work on ladders up to twenty five feet above ground.
  • Tolerance of high heat and humidity for prolonged periods of time.
  • Capacity for working in a confined space with a calm attitude.
