Job Description


Positions available on 2nd and 3rd shift – direct hire! Safely, accurately, professionally, and in a timely manner, performing changeovers to die casting work centers.  This includes using standard procedures, submitting parts to QA for visual, dimensional, and x-ray inspections, and verifying proper work center component function through the monitoring systems.  Prove proper function by starting and running the first 30 minutes of good piece production.  Starting wage is $19.00 - $23.00 an hour! 


  • Work in an aware and safety conscious manner, complying with all plant safety rules and practices, including lockout/tagout, crane and hoist inspections, hose restraints, fall protection, and all PPE.
  • Consult the production schedule and production control personnel, as needed to prioritize and plan daily/weekly work.
  • Proactively pursue personal and SMED improvements. Continually seeking safety, accuracy, and changeover time improvements.
  • Prepare everything necessary for changeover in advance, whenever possible, before the workcenter is stopped.
  • Correctly complete workcenter changeovers, minimizing the time from last good part to first good part, while keeping the area free from safety hazards. This may include die casting dies, trim dies, finishing equipment such as a mini-vibe, and other auxiliary equipment.
  • Take responsibility for organization and housekeeping of the storage racks of shot sleeves, knock-out and pull-bars, SRAs, the setup carts, as well as the storage cabinets, the work benches, and the prep area.
  • Make supervision aware on any purchasing needs.
  • Diligently perform shadow board checks and submit the associated check sheets.
  • Enter maintenance work request as appropriate, but only after giving significant effort to troubleshooting the situation.
  • Suggest improvements to plant safety practices, plant organization systems, and plant equipment and tooling. 


  • Some prior experience working with changing out dies desired, but not required.
  • Positive attitude with strong mechanical aptitude, reasoning ability, and problem solving skills.
  • Must be able to use basic measuring tools, do basic math, read and fill out procedures and documentation, as well as interact with electronically controlled equipment.
  • Willing to make at least a two year commitment to the position.
  • Must have valid forklift and crane licenses.
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds from floor level.
  • Have good interpersonal skills.
  • Have good attendance.
