Job Description

Director – Human Resources 

Director – Human Resources will report directly to President and COO.  The Director of Human Resources has responsibility for establishing and maintaining company Human Resources programs to include:

  • Corporate policies, and procedures
  • Employment
  • Compensation
  • Employee Relations
  • Training
  • Safety
  • Community Relations
  • Benefits
  • On Boarding Program
  • 401K education
  • Employee Review Process
  • Worker Compensation
  • Strategic Planning
  • Succession Planning
  • Marketing/Branding 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Design and administrate employee benefit programs involving negotiation of contracts for benefits and services, reports, record keeping, cost containment, and employee education.
  • Promote effective relations between labor and management to include the establishing and maintaining of communication programs, and resolution of employee concerns.
  • Strategic focus to position the company for future acquisitions domestically and internationally.
  • Ability to build The Brand of the organization.
  • Work with local Middle and High Schools to establish a feeder path of employees into the organization.
  • Consult with functions regarding optimum staffing configurations. Locate and screen candidates for hourly and salaried positions, conduct general orientation of new employees, develop and maintain systems to fairly and effectively increase or decrease the hourly work force when needed and system in which current employees may find job advancement within the company.
  • Assure company compliance with regulations pertaining to the personnel Function, EEO, ERISA, etc.
  • Establish and maintain a wage and salary system for hourly and salaried employees.
  • Establish work rules and procedures including Employee Handbook.
  • Monitor manufacturing to be sure that supervision is incorporating safety into methods, machinery, and employee work habits. Handle workers' compensation so as to protect company and employee interests.
  • Recommend and jointly approve training programs, arranging and developing training, and keeping current records on the training employees have received.
  • Monitor Workers’ Compensation claims and review for compliance, while providing financial transparency to Senior Leadership Team.
  • Direct employee services such as uniforms, vending/food service, payroll savings programs, etc.
  • Promote the well-being of the human resources of the organization: health maintenance, counseling, etc.
  • Organize and staff the Human Resources function, develop and implement appropriate personnel systems and procedures.
  • Maintain comprehensive employee record system: hire, compensation, position history, training, etc. 

SPECIFICATIONS 

  • Qualifications include a Bachelor's Degree and 7-10 years’ experience in Human Resources.
  • Prior experience working in manufacturing required. Graduate degree preferred.
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to assume responsibility and proven experience in the oversight and administration of HR Department. 

Relocation assistance is provided for this position Starting wage for this position is up to $120K plus incentive compensation of up to 25%!
