Job Description

Chemical Process Engineer 

Position Summary:

Proficient ability in Process Engineering and use of available software.  Responsible for completing all tasks assigned in accordance with experience and skill level. 

Essential Functions and Duties:

Perform assigned project tasks with guidance from Engineers, Lead Designers and Managers which includes but not limited to:

  • Participate in collecting data and producing sketches from field inspections.
  • Interpret mark-ups and field data from others.
  • Create or modify PFD's and P&ID's by hand.
  • Perform simple hydraulic and heat/mass balance calculations by hand or using software tools.
  • Develop piping, equipment and instrument specifications and obtain vendor quotes.
  • Calculate sizing for emergency relief devices.
  • Evaluate applicability of environmental and safety design codes to specific client conditions.

Participate in coordination of project details with Engineers and Lead Designers.

Communicate with Engineers, Project Managers and other Designers as necessary for clarification of assigned project tasks.

Responsible for carrying out assigned tasks.


  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools and Navisworks Freedom software.
  • Experience with Process Simulation and pipeline network analysis software such as Epcon, Aspen or similar. 


  • Minimum of Bachelors Degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering, E.I.T.
  • Engineering experience - 2 to 3 years
  • Willingness and ability to learn and be open minded
