Mechanical Design Engineer


Job Description


  • Responsible for mechanical engineering analysis, calculation, design / documentation and production unit support as required on assigned projects.
  • Through application of Engineering standards and the process of continuous improvement, provide reliable, high quality and cost effective product designs.
  • The incumbent will develop, change and maintain accurate drawings and Bills of Material of parts and assemblies, as well as develop and maintain company-Engineering standards.
  • Maintain close relationships with the production unit to promote effective communication and ensure designs meet specifications.


BSME degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology or equivalent combination of education and experience.


  • Three to five years of experience in Engineering, preferably capital equipment, machine tool, automation, or stamping press design.
  • Proven design/analysis competency is required.
  • Knowledge of DFM/DFA procedures and processes, design of large fabrication, castings, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, and knowledge of machining operations.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD, FEA, kinematics and thermal analysis.
  • Experience with MECHANICA or ANSYS.
  • Knowledge of applicable OSHA, ANSI, CSA standards.
  • General knowledge of integrated business information systems.

This is a direct hire position - pay up to $85K - well known OEM in Dayton - great reputation - great benefits!
