Job Description

Highly mechanical, with electrical ability and PLC troubleshooting, hydraulics, pneumatics, 480V 3 phase, photo eyes, relays, sensors. 

 

Requirements 

HS Diploma or GED
3 to 5 years of mech exper
Knowledge of VFD's and DCS programming (preferred)

 

We are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Maintenance Technician for a Springfield Oh area client. This individual will have responsibility for installing, maintaining and repairing a broad range of mechanical systems and equipment including hydraulic, pneumatic, power transmission systems and steam generating equipment. This position will provide assistance in operating functions as necessary to maintain continuous operations as well as repair or diagnose faulty equipment or machinery.

You must have a High School Diploma or GED. An Assictae Degree in Industrial Maintenance, (or closely related field), or combination of education and experience which may include Skilled Trades Programs or Military is a plus.
Our client prefers 3 to 5 years of experience in mechanical systems maintenance experience. Knowledge of VFD's and DCS programming is preferred.
Experience working on steam generator a plus
Must be proficient in the safe use of hand tools, power tools, meters, calibrators, programmers and other tooling typical of mechanical service
Physical requirements - lift and manipulate unwieldly parts weighing approximately 75 lbs up to 100 lbs
Required to work in an unclimate-controlled environment
Must be able to work in a team environment
Ability to train others


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Installation, disassembly, repair or reassembly of equipment such as pumps, gearboxes, mechanical drives or other mechanical equipment/machinery.
Test and/or inspection of systems and equipment through the utilization of applicable measurement devices.
Works with blueprints, schematics, manuals, etc. in carrying out job assignments.
Plans layout of machine/equipment installs in building.
Run lathes, milling machines, drill press and router.
Maintain equipment and facilities in proper working condition in accordance with standard operating procedures, manufacturer's instructions or diagrams in compliance with codes and regulatory agencies.
Installs power supply wiring and conduit for newly installed machines and equipment.
Tests and diagnoses malfunctioning machinery and communicates with Maintenance Department or Facility Management.
Work with Contractors, Engineering Department and Management on the review and recommendations of installation of systems; upgrade projects, new structure equipment involvement and equipment compatibility.
Replace/repair faulty components of machine such as relays, printed circuit boards, switches, motors and adjusts mechanical parts as necessary.
Experience rebuilding gearboxes, centrifugal pumps and capable of rebuilding/installing pump seals.
Operates control systems, programmable controllers, robots, etc. to program automated machinery, test for malfunctions or to verify repairs.
Adjusts, aligns, and calibrates equipment according to specs.
Completes specific PM duties as assigned.
Communicates with production to determine problems associated with equipment before or during a breakdown to determine adjustments or repairs.
Inform facility leaders and other technicians of pertinent information and relay to other departments in necessary.
Assist Technical Department and/or Engineering team members on assigned projects.
Requisitions supplies, parts, equipment to send out for repair
Record appropriate equipment information concerning equipment repairs and performance through Maintenance Supervisor or CMMS.
Maintain clean work environment and document housekeeping and 5S compliance
Complete routine maintenance on assigned tools, devices and equipment
Adhere to company safety regulations, ISO 9000, 14001 and 18000 Standards.
